Where the Crawdads Sing is a novel written by Delia Owens. It is one of the best-selling books. The book was first published in August 2018. The book follows the ups and downs of a wild and unkempt girl, Kya. It is a part-time crime book centered around the girl Kya.

Kya is known as the “Marsh girl” in her town. She had grown up alone in the marshes of North Carolina. Her father was abusive, so her mother and her four siblings all left to get away from her father leaving her alone with her father. Later, her father also got disappeared. Kya lives a lonely life and with a little help, she could survive and even learn to read.

Her natural beauty catches the eye of two men in town but the body of Chase Andrews, the local hotshot, when discovered in the marshes makes the Kya a prime suspect. Kya has struggled and fought so hard in her life.

Kya’s romantic storylines during her teenage years were described in the novel and have some melodrama also. In the end, Kya’s husband, Tate uncovered Chase’s necklace in a book full of poems Kya had written after Kya has passed away peacefully.
